Synopsis

Reinhard von Lohengramm assembles his new admiralty, choosing subordinate officers of both common and noble birth, namely August Samuel Wahlen, Cornelius Lutz, Karl Gustav Kempff, Fritz Josef Bittenfeld, Ernest Mecklinger, Wolfgang Mittermeyer and Oskar von Reuenthal.

Elsewhere, Maximilian von Castrop rebels against the Empire. Reinhard is ordered to put down the revolt; he dispatches Siegfried Kircheis and a small fleet to defeat Castrop. Kircheis succeeds in destroying the "impregnable" Artemis Necklace by engulfing the battle satellites of the Necklace with directional Seffle particles and igniting them, which greatly demoralises the rebels. Castrop is then murdered by his retainers, ending the rebellion with only one casualty. For his efforts, Kircheis is promoted to the rank of Vice Admiral.

Apocrypha

  • The events of this episode took place chronologically after that of LOGH: 'Iserlohn Captured!' in the original novels in Volume 1, Chapter 6.
  • Instead of relying on the Artemis Necklace as depicted in this episode, Maximilian von Castrop in the novels personally led a private fleet against the Imperial fleets sent to suppress his rebellion.
