Synopsis
Rumours spread around the Free Planets Alliance on the whereabouts of Yang Wen-li and Helmut Lennenkampf. El Facil, having declared its secession from the Alliance, aggressively tries to recruit Yang. Yang decides to remain on the sidelines. The reasoning behind Yang's caution is due to the Yang Fleet not having enough military strength to protect El Facil or any other systems. Yang decides his next action depends heavily on the Empire's next move. On Heinessen, João Rebelo receives Chung Wu-Cheng in his office. Chung advises Rebelo to ask Yang to return and lead the Free Planets Star Fleet and avoid pushing him to the brink, otherwise he may ally with the Empire out of desperation. On Fezzan, Reinhard von Lohengramm receives a report from Karl Robert Steinmetz about the truth behind Yang's movements and Lennenkampf's actions. Reinhard then summons his three top military commanders.
